Lebenshilfe Oberösterreich relies on eFront for digital professional development

Company profile:

Lebenshilfe OÖ is the largest provider of services for people with disabilities in Upper Austria. More than 1,700 employees support and care for nearly 2,000 people with intellectual disabilities. The comprehensive services offered throughout Upper Austria include mobile early intervention and family support in the districts of Vöcklabruck and Kirchdorf/Krems, kindergartens, a special education after-school program, residential facilities, mobile care, workshops, as well as cafés, shops, studios, farm stands, a snack bar, and a fair trade shop. Founded as a parent-led initiative in 1969, Lebenshilfe Upper Austria advocates for the interests of people with intellectual disabilities and their families.

The challenge: Organizing training sessions efficiently

Lebenshilfe Oberösterreich faced the challenge of making its professional development programs more efficient, up-to-date, and sustainable. In-person training sessions have traditionally involved—and in some cases still involve—considerable organizational and administrative effort, and offer employees only limited flexibility in terms of time and location.

The goal was therefore to make learning opportunities accessible regardless of location or time, to provide targeted content for different employee groups, and to strengthen the long-term development of skills within the organization. At the same time, the aim was to modernize continuing education and make it easier to administer from an organizational standpoint.

Why did Lebenshilfe choose eFront?

In collaboration with clickandlearn, eFront was implemented as a central, user-friendly learning platform. A key factor in this decision was that the system provides a reliable foundation for digital learning while remaining flexible enough to accommodate future requirements and developments.

Particularly impressive were:

  • intuitive & user-friendly operation
  • tailored delivery of learning content
  • transparent tracking of learning progress
  • easy administration & centralized management
  • flexible scalability to meet future needs

With eFront, we were able to create a modern learning environment that meets both the needs of the employees and the organizational requirements of Lebenshilfe OÖ.

The initial successes

The first step was to digitize the onboarding training sessions for new employees. Previously, these sessions had been conducted exclusively in person, which entailed significant organizational, administrative, and logistical efforts.

Today, onboarding courses are conducted entirely through the e-learning platform. This has made it possible to streamline processes significantly, save resources, and at the same time ensure consistent, high-quality training.

New employees also benefit from a flexible and modern learning environment: course materials are available digitally at all times, training history is clearly documented, and certificates are automatically generated upon successful completion.

The outlook

The range of digital training courses will be expanded gradually in the future and tailored even more closely to the various target groups within the organization.

Plans include specific training programs for care staff, managers, and other departments. The goal is to establish the platform as a central component of human resources development and knowledge management at Lebenshilfe OÖ in the long term.

Here’s what our clients say:

“Our collaboration with clickandlearn has been professional and solution-oriented from the very beginning. We would particularly like to highlight their technical expertise, their hands-on support during implementation, and their understanding of our organizational needs. By implementing eFront, we have been able to modernize our training processes in a sustainable way and make them more efficient.”
