ORLEN Austria is using the eFront e-learning platform for digital compliance training

Conveying complex content in an accessible way – supported by the clickandlearn library

Company profile:

ORLEN is an internationally active, publicly listed energy group with numerous sites and an extensive network of petrol stations. In Austria, the organisation comprises around 100 employees at its head office and nearly 300 petrol stations operated under the Turmöl brand. The majority of these stations are operated directly by the group using its own staff.

Inital situation

As a member of the group, ORLEN Austria has extensive training obligations – particularly in areas such as compliance, regulatory requirements and internal policies.

The challenge was to present complex content in an accessible way whilst ensuring that all staff completed the mandatory training courses on time. In addition, reliable reporting to the parent company had to be guaranteed.

It is therefore essential to implement a digital learning platform as soon as possible. A solution based entirely on e-learning and capable of being managed centrally should be in place within just three months.

Solution

In collaboration with clickandlearn, the eFront basic learning management system was implemented. The project team comprised representatives from the marketing, HR and legal departments, which meant that both content-related and organisational requirements could be taken into account directly.

The platform enables the efficient organisation and management of all training courses and offers key features for compliance training:

• centralised management of training courses and target groups
• automated certifications with expiry dates and recertification processes
• Automatic allocation of refresher courses upon expiry of certificates
• Notifying staff regarding timely recertification
• rapid roll-out of new training courses
• comprehensive reporting functions for reports to the parent company

A major advantage is that 50% of the e-learning modules used come from the clickandlearn library. Thanks to the rapid integration of the required standard content, it often takes just two days from the decision to use an e-learning module to its availability to users.
