How To Play (Europe):
First Game: Europe (Voice)
Setting the Options: Select the first drill "Europe (Voice)." An Options Box will appear that you can use to prepare the game for playing. The Randomize box should be not-checked. The Test Mode box should be not-checked. The number of questions should be set to 7. Move the slider to set the difficulty level to Beginner and then click the GO button.
Clicking the Answers: Listen to the voice prompt and click the button on the map that you think is the correct country. If you click the correct button, it (the button) will disappear and the next voice prompt will be given. If you click the wrong button, you will see the name of the country you clicked (not the correct country) written in the info box. Notice which country you clicked and then click the Continue button in the info box. You can click other buttons on the screen to search for the correct answer or you can use the ShowMe button. The ShowMe button appears next to the timer in the bottom right corner of the screen after 5 seconds without a correct answer. When you click the ShowMe button you will see a round orange target on the screen showing you the correct answer. Click the correct button and continue. Continue clicking until all buttons have disappeared. If you did not beat the timer you can replay over and over until you can beat the clock.
Alphabetical Order at Beginning Speed: After you beat the clock for 7 questions at beginner speed, increase the number of questions to 14 and play until you can beat the clock. Then beat the clock for 21, 28, 35, 42, and 46 questions. Alphabetical Order at Medium Speed: Set the difficulty to Medium Speed and play until you can beat the clock with 7 questions, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 and 46 questions. Random Order at Beginning Speed: Set the difficulty to Beginning Speed. Check the Randomize box. Play (and beat the clock) with 7 questions, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, and 46 questions. Random Order at Medium Speed: Set the difficulty to Medium Speed. Check the Randomize Box. Play (and beat the clock) with 7 questions, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 and 46 questions. Random / Run As Test / All 46 Questions: Check both the Randomize and Run As Test Boxes. Set the number of questions to 46. Play over and over until you score at least 50%. First Letter Clues: Print the list of First Letter Clues for Europe and write the correct answers for as many countries as you know. Paper Test: Print the Paper Test. for Europe. Write as many answers as you know. Recite 20 Countries In Order: Recite the first 20 countries (Albania to Latvia) over and over until you can say them in 20 seconds. Use this List of Countries when you get stuck.
Second Game: Europe (Read/Color)
Alphabetical Order at Medium Speed: Set the difficulty to Medium Speed and play until you can beat the clock with 7 questions, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 and 46 questions.
Random / Run As Test / All 46 Questions: Check both the Randomize and Run As Test Boxes. Set the number of questions to 46. Play over and over until you score at least 75%.
First Letter Clues: Print the list of First Letter Clues for Europe and write the correct answers for as many countries as you know.
Paper Test: Print the Paper Test for Europe. Write your answers. Take 2% off for any not correct.
Recite 35 Countries In Order: Recite the first 35 countries (Albania to Russia) over and over until you can say them in 46 seconds. Use this List of Countries when you get stuck.
Random / Run As Test / All 46 Questions: Check both the Randomize and Run As Test Boxes. Set the number of questions to 46. Play over and over until you score 100%.
Paper Test: Print the Paper Test for Europe. Take it over and over until you score 46/46.
Recite 46 Countries In Order: Recite all 46 countries (Albania to Yugoslavia) over and over until you can say them in 46 seconds.
Hint: it will help you a LOT if you say the names of the countries as you click.
